CITRIC ACID
CITRIC ACID (C6H8O7) is a multi-purpose weak organic acid used as a pH controller and preservative.
Application
CITRIC ACID can be used to control the pH of mud systems by reducing the alkalinity of the system. In low concentrations CITRIC ACID acts as a preservative in biodegradable systems, slowing the onset of degradation and fermentation. CITRIC ACID in the proper concentrations can facilitate cross linking in polymer systems.
Advantages
- Non-toxic
- Effectively reduces the pH of mud systems
- Preserves biopolymer systems
