SAPP STICKS
SAPP STICKS (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate) are infused with SAPP and provide an easy to use medium. SAPP STICKS are used in much the same manner as polyphosphate dispersants and are subject to the same temperature limitations. Due to its acidic nature, it is especially effective for treating cement contamination. SAPP dispersant is efficient for bentonite muds and is often used in conjunction with tannin compounds. SAPP dispersant can also be used to treat calcium contamination, especially contamination resulting from cement. Because of its acidic nature, SAPP dispersant is not normally used in muds where the pH exceeds 9.5.
Application
SAPP STICKS can be used to control reactive formations, and in the treatment cement contamination. SAPP STICKS can also be used to control the alkalinity of the mud if over 9.5 pH.
